Stealth element in video games

Being hidden from your enemies feels cool and taking them out by surprise feels even better. The element of stealth have been used in video games for a long time now and not only in stealth games. Here are my personal favorite games which i think really emphasize the element of stealth.




1. 'Thief' series

If you like sneaking around and be well... sneaky, then you'll definitely love this game. This game series have made its debut and since it was released it has always offered players a distinctive stealthy feeling and suspense as you take on quests and play as Garrett as each of his stories unfold.

The most recent 'thief' game was released last 2014 and it involves using using the shadows to your advantage just like its predecessors but unlike its predecessors, the most recent game offers a more mastered version of an open world.

2. Dishonored

This game series is similar to thief but your main protagonist has immortal powers which enables him to teleport, see through walls, possess animals and humans and more.

The first game involves our main protagonist who  have been betrayed and accused falsely of murder.

3. 'Assasin's creed' series

Maybe a bit too mainstream but definitely cool. The assassins creed series has been entertaining me and many others with its combination of dynamic action and stealth.

It involves our main protagonists using a machine which allows him to live as his assassin ancestors to learn about their secrets and play through historic events often depicted from real historical events. Each game has different ancestor and environment for us players to enjoy. A comparison of gaming systems

Video games can be played on a multitude of systems; the PS4, Xbox one, Wii U,etc. There are also a couple of portable gaming systems, the most popular being the Nintendo 3DS at the moment. However,  the most powerful and versatile (and expensive) gaming system is the PC.

The PC can do everything that a console can do, and it can do it better. Some of the things that a PC can do better:

• Better Graphics - Higher end PCs are able to handle more intense loads, and so games look a lot nicer on PCs.
• Modding - Games on the PC can be modded, unlike console games. Modding allows the gaming community to contribute to a game. A mod could consist of anything; from graphics mods, which improve or tweak the graphics, and gameplay mods, which change some aspect of the gameplay.

Resident Evil

Zombies have been in games since 1984 and it has been an entertaining element in games until today. There's just something about them that never fails to excite us whether it is the satisfaction of killing the undead or the occasionally terrifying encounter of them. And one of the most iconic zombie games would be the resident evil series and it happens to be the first zombie game i have played.

This series is the beginning of it all. The first resident evil is the first zombie game tot have been released on a console, on the playstation. It was definitely one of the scarier if not the scariest game i've played when i was hooked on my Playstation one.

These games has all the elements to scare and considered by many as the best zombie games to be released. The first game is terrifying with elements such as claustrophobic situations, mild gore and gloomy environment as you explore a mansion full of zombies.

Role-Playing Games

RPGs are some of the most popular games in all of video game history. Some excellent examples are The Elder Scroll series, Fallout, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, and The Witcher. Personally, my all-time favorite RPG is The Witcher 3.

So what is it about The Witcher 3 that makes it so appealing to me?

• An open world -- The world of the Witcher is massive, and very early on in the game, the player is given the freedom to do anything and go anywhere. There are a multitude of areas to explore, and monsters to kill. The games' visuals are beautiful, and make it that much more immersive.

• The atmosphere -- The Witcher 3's atmosphere is a dark and morbid one. Every other village you come across has either become a complete ghost town because of the war, or is starving and on the brink of death. An encounter in the Witcher is hardly ever a completely positive one. Discrimination is rampant in The Witcher, which gives it a greater sense of realism.
• The gameplay -- The combat is addictive; the animations are smooth, impact noises sounds sufficiently real, and most importantly, the combat is satisfying. The game also forces you to make choices, which often don't quite have an obvious right answer.
